Let's hike at Seoraksan National Park during the peak of fall foliage in that that region! We will leave Seoul on Friday night so that we can arrive at the trailhead around 3am to begin our hike. We will hike up to Daecheongbong (1,708m), Seoraksan's highest peak, and watch the sunrise. From there we will make our way to the starting point of Dinosaur Ridge. We will separate into two groups at this point. Those who want to hike along the ridge will continue onward, while those who would like to shorten the hike by a few hours will head down the valley. The Dinosaur Ridge hike will take around 13-14 hours total and will go up and over a lot of different peaks. It will involve a lot of steep and rocky terrain, but is worth the effort. The valley course will take about 10 hours, and will take you past some very scenic waterfalls on the way down to the base of the park. It will be an incredible time of year to hike these trails, so let's go!

What to bring:
Wear layers, including warm clothing (a warm coat/jacket)
Hat and gloves (it will be cold at night and in the morning!)
Appropriate footwear for hiking (hiking boots/sneakers with good grip)
Packed breakfast and lunch
Money for dinner (We'll stop on the way back to Seoul)
Snacks
Plenty of water (bring a lot, you will need it!)
Head lamp/Head lantern
Extra batteries for your head lamp (especially if you will hike Dinosaur Ridge!)
Extra socks (optional)
Schedule:
11:30pm - Meet at Seoul National University of Education Station, depart
3:00am - Arrive at Osaek trailhead and begin the hike
Watch the sunrise at Daecheongbong
Split into two groups (Dinosaur Ridge or Valley Course)
6:30 ~ 7:00pm* - Arrive at the bottom and take our bus back to Seoul
10:30pm* - Arrive back in Seoul.
(* Depending on traffic... but we'll do our best to get back as early as possible.)
****Please choose the hike that best suits your ability. The Dinosaur Ridge hike will take a lot of endurance to finish on time, and will cover a lot of steep and/or rocky terrain. If you're unsure, please choose the valley course which is also very scenic but is several hours shorter.***
