Ride a bike around Ichon & walk to the Seonyudo Island along the Han River

  • Sunday, October 25, 2015

    11:00 AM
  • Ichon District, Han River Park

    Ichon Station, Seoul (edit map)
  • Price: $20.00 /per person

  • One of the best ways to tour the Han River is by bike. So we, at BIK, planned to ride a bike downstream from Ichon to the Bridge Yangwha, taking advantage of "One-Way Bike Rental Service". But this Sunday one-way bike rental service is not available. An unexpected biking trip interruption changes our plan.
    At Ichon:

    For bike riders
    pick-up time at Ichon: 11:20 A.M.
return time at Ichon: 12:20 P.M.
    * Rented bikes must be returned to same location, Ichon.
    * Those who don't ride a bike walk along the Han River and visit the Seonyoudo Park through the Yangwha Bridege.  Bike riders can join us at the Yanhwa Bridge or in the Seonyoudo Island.

♣ Let's go biking & taking a walk along the Han River!
       ☛ Meeting Location & Time :
Ichon Station (이촌역) on Line 4 or Jungang Line
Meet outside the station, Exit #4

       ☛  Oct. 25, 2015 · 11:00 AM

(Description)  The Ichon-dong area is home to a number of Japanese restaurants, Sanuki and Dongmun Udong House being a couple of the more well-known, but there are obviously more options than just tempura and sushi. A small and eclectic grouping – ranging from Italian bistro to bento to bosintang – is grouped around a couple small alleys that can be reached by hanging an immediate right after coming out of Exit 3-1 and crossing the first street you come to.
With the leaves just starting to turn red or yellow, riding a bike from the Ichon section of the Hangang Park would be an ideal way of spending a day. In summer, this area offers motor, pedal, and banana boat rental at the Turtle Ship Pier and is the site of one of the docks for Seoul’s water taxi system.
♦ Bicycle riders can choose whether they bring a bike or rent one around the Ichon section of the Han River Park. In case you bring a bike, you should carry it on the first or last car of the subway)
This will be a one-way, 1-2 hour bike ride (including breaks/photo time) on a bike path that has riverside views, and has some convenient facilities for bike riders (bathrooms, convenience stores, rest areas, etc). During the bike ride, we'll stop to eat our between-meal snacks, so be sure to bring something to eat. After the bike ride, we can walk along the Bridge Yangwha and have early dinner.
Rented bikes can/must be returned in the Mangwon Section of the Hang River park near the Hapjeong Station. And then we will keep walking towards the Hapjeong station. And we may be able to enjoy early dinner with some beer/soju/bevereages and so on)
