This Worldcup Stadium Station is a metropolitan subway station in Seoul, Korea. The station was built to facilitate access to the Seoul World Cup Stadium for 2002. The station has a very specific design with a main entrance reminiscent of a Greek amphitheater, between Exits 2 and 3.

The World Cup Park was built to commemorate the 17th FIFA World Cup. Opened in May 1st, 2002, the park was     once a 15-year-old landfill that held over 92 million tons of garbage. It took 6 years to stabilize the waste (measures were taken to prevent the garbage runoff from contaminating the environment) and an additional year to build the actual park itself. The park is located near the Seoul World Cup stadium, and is made up of five smaller parks including the Pyeonghwa 'Peace' Park, Haneul 'Sky' Park, and Noeul 'Sunset' Park. The park takes up a 1.05 million-pyeong area and is usually crowded with in-line skaters.  

*Pyeonghwa Park: Closest to the Seoul World Cup Stadium, it holds a pond, garden, children’s playground, and forest. It is often used as a picnic area and place for nature studies.  

* Nanjicheon Park: The Nanjicheon Park was developed from the Nanji Stream, which flowed under the Haneul Park. It was once overflowing with sewage runoff from the nearby landfill, but it has since been beautifully restored into a beautiful park with clear water. It contains an outdoor stage and various sports facilities.  

*Nanji Hangang Park: The Nanji Hangang Park was developed on the banks of the Han River. It contains a campground, soccer field, basketball court, grass field, cruise ship port, and an area for nature-studies.  

*Haneul Park : Of the 5 World Cup Parks, the Haneul Park is at the highest elevation. Once a mountain of garbage, it is now a green hill with 22 lookout points offering breathtaking views of Soul City, Mt. Namsan, Mt. Bukhansan, and Mt. Gwanaksan. 5 wind-powered generators provide power to the park and the park’s maintenance office.  

* Noeul Park: The Noeul Park contains a 9-hole golf course and takes up a vast area of land that was once a landfill. The park was constructed as grassland because too much development may have caused damage to the environment, due to the buried waste. It offers a scenic view of the Han River and its beautiful sunset.

• Are you interested in catching a big wild salmon in the shallow streams? If you are, here is a good news to enjoy wild Salmon catching festival. I have been shopping at Costco wholesale market to buy salmon almost every other sunday!^^

• But Mr. Hong,  co-organizer of Mirearo group, informed me that it is not a good idea to eat farmed salmon every sunday due to farmed with antibiotic!
• 
  Don't hesitate! This festival is a great chance to tour East Sea area incluive of Seorak Juzeongol(주전골) easy Trekking.
•  
•  There are two options! You can participate in Seorak trekking only without salmon festival and Seorak trekking inclusive of Salmon festival both of them.
• 
  This event should be a great one!^^
• 
  • Venue : In Yangyang city, close to Sogcho.
                  (This Event is organized by Yangyang county)
• 
  • When : On October 19, Saturday
• 
  • Costs : Terkking only 20,000won
    (Charter bus fare on condition of 35passengers at least)
     or if you want to join trekking and salmon festival all together 45,000won(bus fare 20,000won+ 25,000KRW[23$])
   
•    About 25,000won ? this is the event fee to participate in the salmon festival, you can catch 1fish at least) and You will receive a gift certificate card that vouchers can be exchanged for agricultural products

   If you couldn't catch any of salmons, a fisher man who is from the county will help you!  That means you will catch a salmon with the help of someone!^^
   
• • How to go there? By bus -> detailed cost will be announced!^^ it will be cheap!^^

  If our members gather more over than 30, we will go there by charter bus with the amazing reasonable cost! but, if not, we will go there by public transportation bus from Dongseoul or Banpo seoul express bus terminal! so, bring your friends or family members, sisters, brothers, father and mother, grand mother and grand father, uncle, aunt and so on....!^^

     To trekkers : Packed lunch box, water, hat, sunblock
     To trek and catch a fish : Extra warm clothes, tower, sneakers(to wear in the water),
                            packed lunch box,water
  

  • Itinerary

     - 7 am : Meet at Gangnam station Exit 5. oudoors

                  the charter bus will start from Guro station

           (In front of AK PLAZA. at the same bus stop of airport bus)         

     - 10am : Arrive at Seorak Juzeongol(주전골) and start Trekking

     - 12:30pm : lunch time

     - 1 : 30pm : Start to Wild salmon festival at Namdaecheon

                        (Takes 1 hour by bus)

     - 2 : 30pm : arrive at Namdaecheon

     - 3 ~ 3:30 : Catching Salmon in the shallow stream(Other members can enjoy outdoor market and festival event) 

     - 3:30 ~5pm : Enjoying the Salmon Festival and look around the traditional Market!

     - 5 :30 pm : Comback to seoul

              (will be arrive at 8 ~ 9pm, it depends on Traffic condition)  

     - 8:30 ~ 9pm: arrive at Gangnam station and Guro station.

  Anyone who is homesick or wishes to experience the wonders of life should come see the school of salmons coming to Namdaecheon river in Yangyang admist the autumn leaves October for spawning. A journey of life to think about life through salmons.

  Nobody knows why salmon goes to the bearing sea returns to their birthplace, or how they are able to navigate back. at least, not yet...

  Every year, the birth and death of salmons repeat and Namdaecheon quietly lives on as a field of life. just as it has until now and as long as life exists on earth, people are just being that come and disappear momentarily in this continuation of time at Namdaecheon.

  The salmon festival was created with the relation of the mysterious life of salmons with that of the homing instinct of humans. it is an incrediable experience to dip your feet in namdaecheon, the river of life, while Yangyang soni mushrooms. it is open to anyone through reservations. looking at the salmon swimming by the backdrop of serak Mountain dyied in various colors of the autumn leaves.
